Kyser ProAm Capo for steel string guitar
The Pro/Am is an economical and portable Kyser® capo for six string (radius fret board) guitars.
Kyser® Pro/Am capos are professional quality and made from lightweight aluminum.
The tension screw allows for precision adjusting, and it’s non-marring and non-reactive to guitar necks.
Like the Quick-Change™, each Pro/Am is made in Texas, USA.
In 1974, Milton Kyser had an idea. He wanted to build a better capo. After personally drafting plans for the tooling and machinery he'd need, he flew to Germany and oversaw their creation. In 1978, he was awarded a patent for his Quick-Change™ and converted his garage into a design and production workshop – what he calls his first "factory". Sales started slowly, but word of mouth, our device's convenient "quick-change" feature won over players, first locally, and eventually through a growing network of dealers. Within five years, we moved the business to a small shop in Grand Prairie, near Dallas, starting with just four workers. In 1998, to meet growing demand for this invention, we built another new facility in the small east Texas town of Canton. Our new space expanded offices and production capabilities and added employees, bringing our current workforce to 35.
