African Ebony picks offer when of the nicest clean sound you
will ever get, and can withstand the assaults of electric guitar use. Ebony is
one of the most popular timbers for lead guitar uses. There is one thing it is
not great at though: its grain makes Ebony unpleasant to hold, and it has a
poor grip.
Fear not, for here come the Tri Tones. By laminating a leaf of Ebony between
two thin leaves of grippier, more comfortable timbers, we get a plectrum that
gets the best of both worlds: a great natural grip and great
natural sound. In addition, it is lighter than a full Ebony pick.
